Frequently Asked Questions

Discover why the Altai origin is the choice of nutrition experts.
The main difference is geographical and environmental. Altai Shilajit comes from remote areas of Mongolia and Siberia, at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, far from any industrial activity. Himalayan Shilajit is often harvested in more accessible areas, but also more exposed to air pollution, which can affect the composition of the raw product. At Altai Origin, we chose the Altai origin for this reason, and each batch is verified by Eurofins and TÜV SÜD laboratories before being put on the market.
The traditional method consists of dissolving a pea-sized portion (250 to 500 mg) in a glass of lukewarm water or herbal tea, preferably in the morning. For simplicity, our compressed resin tablets (additive-free) can also be swallowed directly with water, one in the morning and one at midday. As with any food supplement, regular use is traditionally recommended, rather than occasional intake.
Our Shilajit has a fulvic acid content certified at 56.2% by the independent laboratory Eurofins — a verifiable figure, unlike some unproven claims of 70-80% made by other sellers. We use a cold treatment process to preserve this compound during extraction. You can view the complete analysis reports on our dedicated Eurofins Analysis page.
Yes. In addition to Eurofins analyses, each batch undergoes TÜV SÜD tests specifically for heavy metals (lead, arsenic, mercury). Shilajit is a mineral resin that can absorb pollutants from its harvesting environment — this is why origin and quality control are crucial for product safety. Full reports are available in our Certified Analyses section.
Shilajit is not just for men; it is a mineral supplement traditionally used by both men and women. It provides over 85 minerals in ionic form, including iron and magnesium, two minerals for which women's needs are often higher. As with any supplement, consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if you have a pre-existing medical condition.
Daily consumption of a pure, tested product (250 to 500 mg per day) is the traditionally followed method. As a precaution, we recommend a one-week break after each 3 to 4-week cycle, in order to respect traditional administration practices. Individuals undergoing medical treatment or with a chronic pathology should seek their doctor's advice before any regular supplementation.
Shilajit is generally well-tolerated when pure and additive-free—digestive discomfort reported with some cheap products is often related to contaminants rather than the Shilajit itself. For people with sensitive digestion, it is advisable to consume it about 30 minutes after a light meal rather than on an empty stomach, diluted in warm water, starting with a half dose.
Shilajit has been traditionally used for centuries in the context of physical vitality, particularly in Ayurvedic medicine. Today, it is sought after by some athletes as a supplement to a balanced diet, due to its rich mineral content. However, it is not a product with therapeutic aims or guaranteed performance — as our article on adaptogens reminds us, this type of substance does not currently have any health claims validated by EFSA.
